LWD - 3 ways to wear it

Nothing else brings more lightness and freshness than a white dress in the summer. It´s our highest wishes when we feel great showing off that dress especially if we contrast it with the gorgeous summer tan, by then we know we hit the high note.
You have green light to use this color in any occasion; going to the beach, cocktail or even to work. The fabric and shape will define it´s use for different occasions.
White is a great basic and a perfect canvas to add up any accessory to the outfit. It´s a clean, fresh, crisp and feminine color.

1. For a job outfit, a modern and neutral ensemble where you can add a pop of color to your feet to make a difference. A structured dress with polished, elegant and professional accessories.
[Zara dress/H&M blazer/Fly London sunglasses/Guess handbag/ASOS green pumps/Tommy Hilfiger Sand watch]

2. For a cocktail look, the power of the metallics are highlighted in this outfit. A more sexy dress to accentuate the feminine curves with a very trendy detail - the peplum. To add a little color, a neon necklace and a touch of shine, a sequin jacket.

[ASOS textured strapless peplum dress/Zara neon necklace/Sequin jacket/Brian Atwood fringe sandals/Valentino clutch]

3. For a more casual outfit, a comfy and feminine dress with embroided details to give that little cute touch. Relaxed and elegant accessories.

Minty fresh

Mint is the new neutral that goes well with everything and comes from the pastel family, so popular from this season and it stands out as the most popular one. It's soft hint allows flowy and light looks, great for a warm day and you'll never lose your elegance.

This popular pastel tone will promise to leave your wardrobe refreshing allowing tons of combinations with it. It's a way to celebrate this spring in a more soft and feminine way.

How to wear this color:
  • Choose soft and feminine fabrics such as a sheer blouse or a flowy skirt;
  • Try to combine with other sorbet colors for a pastel color-block. Matching with the right tones you'll have a very chic ensemble: mint combines very well with coral, blue sky, lavender, browns...;
  • For a more elegant and sophisticated look match it with black and gold;
  • Another safe and elegant suggestion, is a monochromatic ensemble. It's a refreshing look without overdoing it. You can match a mint dress with a nude or black blazer for a work outfit, or shorts and sweater in the same tone for a casual look;
  • If you prefer less highlighting this color, go for little pops of it on your outfit such as nail-polishes or accessories. Big chunky necklaces or a handbag are very trendy as well. Mint is also seen on shoes from high-heels to flats.

A Happy Deco-Romantic Valentine.

The day of the hearts and of love is coming soon. I present you an outfit inspired from the Deco era, a time of delicacy, romanticism, and graphically, very amusing to me. Therefore, this outfit has a hint of the geometrical inspiration from the Deco years. A nice twist for your romantic dinner out. To break the sophistication and luxurious image of the ensemble, I added a pop of color with a more casual cardigan.

If you men are out there, trying to look for some gift ideas, I'm sure the ladies would love a touch of classical luxurious items, either for their home or for themselves.

Here comes the new year ⋆ ✩ ✮ ✯ ✰

Hello my readers!
I leave you with a funky and edgy ensemble, for your new years eve party! Will you celebrate it at home or out somewhere? Anyways, my view for it goes a little bit out of the box, away from conventional pretty party dresses. I would appreciate some comfort, some glam and glitter if I were wearing some party outfit, but since I will be spending it home with my hubby and daughter, I will stick to my imagination on this one.
Above all, you should just have fun with it!!

My other suggestion, is getting a brand new notebook so you can start writing, making lists or projects for this new year and try to stick to it and make the magic happen!

Happy new year and may your wishes and dreams come true!

Shake of the week>>

Hello all!
I have been really absent from my little cute fashion blog that I love, but have been lacking of time to give it a little bit more of attention as I would want to. Life is just like that.
To celebrate my brief return and even though it's not the official day for the "shake of the week" I thought it would be great to come back and shake all that glam again. It was time to fill up this blog with sweet treats of fashion, and what a better way to kickoff the season, with my very best fav drink. And this said....

[The shake]:

Pumpkin Spice Latte

To make it simple, go to Starbucks (no intent for advertising). But seriously, I stop there almost every day to have this seasonal drink. Lo-ve it!
Anyways, if you're up to a homemade one, here it goes:

makes 1-2 servings
Ingredients:
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons canned pumpkin OR 1 teaspoon of Torani Pumpkin Spice Syrup (your choice)
2 tablespoons sugar or sugar substitute - you can halve this amount
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1-2 shots espresso (about 1/4 cup of espresso or 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee if you don't have an espresso machine.)
Directions:
In a saucepan combine milk, pumpkin and sugar and cook on medium heat, stirring, until steaming. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and spice, transfer to a blender and process for 15 seconds until foamy. If you don't have a blender, don't worry about it - just whisk the mixture really well with a wire whisk.
Pour into a large mug or two mugs. Add the espresso on top.
Optional: Top with whipped cream and sprinkle pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, or cinnamon on top.

Recipe from here.

[The fashion]:

Soooo in love with chunky sweaters. And to balance off the volume, choose some little leather shorts. Hello Yellow

Yellow is a very strong bright color and you can surely be noticed when wearing it. Is is also apealing and festive for the summer so why not go for this color trend and have fun with it adding some sunshine to your wardrobe

a. Dorothy Perkins yellow wood section color
b. Yellow Slinky Frill One Piece Swimsuit from Topshop
c. Mecox Gardens - Tulipa Yellow/Grey Cut Velvet Pillow Detail
d. Deborah Lippmann Yellow Brick Road Nail Color
e. Pleat Bobble Clutch Bag
f. Yellow Pleated Flippy Skirt from Topshop
g. Pineapple Short-Sleeve Top at Delias
h. 1STDIBS.COM 40's Assymetric Platinum Diamond
i. BC Footwear Limousine Shoe
j. ASOS Leather Colour Block Satchel at ASOS

How to wear yellow:

  • Choose the right shade: Dark hair and dark skin can go for more vivid colors; Blonde or light skin go for more soft and muted shades; Redheads look good in red undertones or honey yellow tones.
  • If you think yellow is unflatering on you or too bold to wear it alone , choose a print with other colors or mix it with other colors - Yellow goes well with navy blue or silver. The color block trend this s/s almost alows any combination so try something more vivid and fun with contrasting colors such as combining it with pink or mint green.
  • Accessorise - Still too much yellow? Then try incorporating a splash of yellow by adding a yellow handbag or yellow shoes in a more darker outfit .
  • Pick one piece of your ensemble in yellow and keep the rest of the look more muted - a nice skirt does the job perfectly
  • If you have a tan and want to show it off, go for yellow.

What to wear with red shoes.

Red shoes are super glam, super chic and a very big trend lately. They complement any look and give that special touch in a more simple ensemble. You can never go wrong with red pumps, or flat sandals or cute ballerinas - Red shoes play well throughout the day.
Get dazzled with all the options that can be worn with red shoes:

a. A neutral look
Pop up a look that's more simple and neutral but ever so sophisticated with a good choice of fabrics such as a tan silk top and pair it with jeans and red ballerinas. This ensemble is so elegant and can be worn anytime.

b. Navy Blue
Red and blue just match so perfectly and instead of going nautically why not opt for a well fitted navy suit and shiny red pumps? A great option for a work outfit and the red pump gives that punch of flare in contrast with the crispy suit.

c. Black & White Stripes
This couldn't be more perfect; white, black and red combo. The perfect match! Stripes is a big trend and you can ensemble the look with red shoes and you'll look great for anytime of the day!

d. White Strapless Dress
Go romantic and fun with white and red! White just asks for color so go super funky and fun with red high heels or sandals.
